Gods of Faltharion
There is no doubt of the divine throughout Faltharion. The works of each culture’s gods are evident in daily life, and some deities even appear in person. Among mortals walk the Hicon Sages, nigh-all-powerful figures whose influence spans the world. Devotion to the Sages is widespread, yet most remain loyal to the pantheons of their own heritage. Some even honor the gods of their culture in tandem with the Sages, though few put them above the gods of their ancestors.
Divinity is an undeniable fact across the world, save for the violent land of Ur'Kadesh, whose gods were slain by the conquest-hungry orcs that dwell in its swamps. While the gods remain ever-present, not all people devote their lives to the worship of any pantheon. There are no true atheists, but the depth and intensity of faith vary greatly across Faltharion.

Hicon Sages
To bear a Hicon, the halo of divinity, is one of the greatest honors in Faltharion. Every Sage was once mortal, ascending through a singular act of greatness or a trial bound to their domain. They walk among the people as living gods, twelve feet tall and radiating gentle light. Revered across the world, their thrones are never secure. A Sage may be replaced when a mortal achieves a greater feat or defeats them in a challenge of their domain. Many mortals grow up dreaming of ascension, and some devote their lives to the pursuit, though few ever succeed.
The Family of Four Faces
The Family of Four Faces is a singular, powerful pantheon embodying the eternal cycle of nature through four familial aspects: the Daughter of Spring, the Father of Summer, the Mother of Autumn, and the Brother of Winter. Together they embody the Trueform, a single divine being with one face for each member, gazing in the four cardinal directions to witness the unending dance of the seasons. Each Face’s spirit is bound to the land, holding the Seasonlands in a perpetual state of spring, summer, autumn, or winter.
Solanthis, the Ever-Flame
Solanthis is the god of truth, divine authority, pageantry, and revelation through fire. Revered as the source of kingship and sacred order, Solanthis is central to the faith of the Lumenin people. His light is said to anoint monarchs, expose hidden corruption, and burn away falsehoods with divine judgment.
The Old Powers
Rather than deities, the winter-hardened folk of Skeldrheim's Cairn acknowledge the Old Powers. Ancient heroes who are now almost primordial forces that shape their world. These entities are worshipped and deeply respected, their influence woven into the fabric of daily life.
The Rooted Way
Among the elves of Kuyoji, there are no gods in the traditional sense. No pantheon of distant deities doling out power from afar. Instead, elven spirituality centers on reverence for the Kokuyoji, whose titanic presence anchors not just their homeland, but their entire way of life. To the elves, the Kokuyoji is not merely a tree, but the soul of the world made manifest. A living, eternal being whose presence nurtures all life beneath its canopy. Though outsiders know only of the Shoji Trees scattered throughout Faltharion, the elves understand the truth: each Shoji Tree is but a root of the Kokuyoji, a sacred tendril of a singular divine organism.
Velphira
Gnomes are heaviest worshipers of the Faltharion's twin moons. Rather than a strict god of each, Velphira is invoked as the pair for internal conflict resolution, surreal visions, artistry, and navigating gray morality.
